3 Traditional Methods Of Oil Extraction

COLD PRESSED OILS

At soap eleiments we follow  traditional methods of extracting oil from nuts and seeds where high quality oils are obtained by performing production at low temperatures using cold press extraction methods.These methods ensure a high quality oil  without the use of heat and chemical solvents and make sure that the oils do not lose any of their nutrients during the extraction process so that they have better nutritive properties  than refined oils.Additionally,these oils are extremely rich in lipophilic phytochemicals such as antioxidants ,contain zero grams of trans fatty acids and are naturally cholesterol free.

The traditional cold press methods are environment friendly as they do not involve large scale chemical solvent extraction and refining operations which not only strip the oils of antioxidants,vitamins and flavour but  are toxic and extensively damage the environment.

It is possible to use both solvent extracted and cold pressed oils in skin and hair care but it is only the nutrient rich cold pressed oils which are beneficial to the skin.

A disadvantage of traditional methods of oil extraction is that it leads to wastage as the amount of oil extracted from the nuts and seeds is lesser as compared to the chemical procedures.This makes the oils a little expensive but at Soap Eleiments we are committed to giving uncompromising beauty care products and in being environment friendly as far as we can.

A huge advantage that we get from our cold pressed oils is that the chemical free remains of the seeds and nuts are used as cattle fodder.

ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential oils are natural aromatic extracts from plants and plant parts including flowers,leaves,seeds,roots,bark,peels of fruits and twigs.The best essential oils are those that are extracted by the steam distillation process or the expression process as in the case of citrus oils.Both these processes do not involve the use of any chemical solvents or chemical additives which are harmful if inhaled or applied on the skin and hair.

At Soap Eleiments we do not use any essential oils extracted using chemical processes or chemical solvents.

HYDROSOLS USED IN FACIAL TONERS

Hydrosols or Floral Waters are pure and natural waters produced during the process of steam distillation of flowers and plants parts to extract essential oils.In simple terms,essential oils cannot be made without producing a hydrosol.During the steam distillation process,flowers and plant materials are placed into a distillation tank where the essential oils contained in these materials are evaporated and condensed and collected as essential oils.The remaining water is a hydrosol containing about

 0.2 % of the essential oil which is what gives the hydrosol its fragrant scent and its therapeutic value.

At Soap Eleiments the essential oils are extracted without the use of any chemical solvents and chemical processes.This directly affects the quality of  the hydrosols used as FACIAL TONERS making them pure,organic and natural.

FACIAL TONER

Our Facial Toners are a combination of floral extracts,floral waters,essential oils and vitamin e oil and serve multiple purposes.

 They can be used as skin toners which you can incorporate into your daily routine. Use this on a freshly cleansed face before moisturising   for a healthier, smoother and hydrated skin. These can also be used as additives to ubtans and face packs to enhance their effectiveness.

 Additionally, you can use these as facial and hair mists that you can keep handy to revive dull and tired skin and damp smelling hair. A couple of spritz of this will leave you feeling instantly refreshed and rejuvenated. 

They also act as an excellent after shave to heal minor cuts and nicks naturally.

ROSEWATER

Rosewater is an integral part of most of our recipes at Soap Eleiments.A fragrant floral water,it is thought to have originated in Iran and has been used for thousands of years as an indispensable ingredient in skin care,food and drinks.Its powerful antiseptic and analgesic properties make it one of the most preferred ingredients in skin care products.

The rosewater at Soap Eleiments is extracted by the steam distillation process where the most meticulously sourced organic rose petals are used to make our alcohol free ROSEWATER and TULSI ROSEWATER.During this process,purified distilled water is passed through fresh rose petals to extract the highest quality Rosewater and Rosewater hydrosol which is used in our FACIAL TONER.

The ROSEWATER WITH TULSI is a unique combination at Soap Eleiments made by distilling organic rose petals with tulsi or holy basil leaves with steam.

The very different aromas of rose and tulsi combine to make a rosewater that smells divine and is extremely effective for skin care.

Tulsi or holy basil leaves is a highly promoted herb in Ayurveda.It is a  miraculous ingredient having internal medicinal value and is extensively used for effective skin care.

Anti bacterial and anti-inflammatory in nature,it deep cleanses the pores of excess oil and toxins,controls excessive oil production thereby reducing the outbreak of acne,pimples,blackheads and whiteheads.
